Your calculator entries stay in your browser. Here is what that means when you use HourHatch.

Updated

Where do calculator entries go?

The calculator code processes your entries on your device and does not upload time card values to an HourHatch database.

The time card tool can keep shift times, unpaid minutes, dates, the optional card name, calculation settings and an optional hourly rate in browser storage. The clock-out tool can keep its start time, work duration, unpaid break minutes and time format. The two tools keep separate records.

No account is required. Calculator values are not put into page URLs or sent to an analytics service by our calculator code.

Why use browser storage?

Local storage lets the calculators restore entries when you return using the same browser profile.

Storage can be unavailable in private browsing or restricted browser settings. Clearing site data removes it. Entries do not sync between devices, and a downloaded record is separate from browser storage.

In the time card calculator, Clear removes shifts and the card name while keeping calculation settings, including any hourly rate. Clear inputs in the clock-out calculator resets that tool. To remove all saved values and settings, use your browser's site-data controls for HourHatch.

Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to open the saved entries. Use the clearing options that fit your device and circumstances.

What information is involved in loading the site?

Loading the site sends technical information such as your IP address, browser details and requested URL to the hosting service.

Hosting or access services may process request information, including a referrer and request time, for delivery, security and reliability under their own practices. Calculator values typed into the tools are not added to those requests by our code.

The HourHatch site code includes no advertising or analytics scripts. Fonts are served with the site. The calculators use local storage and do not set tracking cookies; a hosting or access service may use essential cookies to deliver or protect the site.

Links to external reference sources take you to other websites, which have their own privacy practices.

What happens with email and downloads?

Email is sent only when you choose to send a message using your email service.

A message to [email protected] can include your address and whatever details you provide. Email services process that correspondence. Use sample shift data when reporting a calculation rather than sending employee records, account passwords or payroll documents.

CSV files and printed PDFs are created from the values in your browser. The downloadable Excel workbook is a prebuilt template. A template download does not send calculator entries with it. Files you save remain on your device until you remove them, even if you clear HourHatch's browser storage.

How can I ask a privacy question?

Email [email protected] with your question or a request concerning information you have sent.

For locally saved calculator data, your browser's site-data settings provide the direct way to delete it. For email correspondence, describe the message or request so it can be identified without including extra sensitive information.
