- The tool you used: time card, clock-out or Excel.
- Clock-in and clock-out times, including AM/PM or the 24-hour format.
- Unpaid break minutes and any split shifts.
- The weekly or biweekly setting and relevant overtime or rounding settings.
- Your expected total, the total shown and the steps you took.
- Your browser and device, or the spreadsheet application for workbook issues.
Use sample times and an example rate if needed. Employee names and complete payroll records are not needed to explain a calculation.
